I did have an update planned for the site but after the devastating 6.3 earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand on the 22nd, I have decided to hold off on adding it.
I am in one of the areas of the city that hasn’t lost power, phone lines or water supplies so I am very lucky in that regard but other people aren’t. The death toll is expected to rise and a hotel in the CBD is likely to collapse as it’s sunken so far into the ground and has also moved horizontally. My workplace is currently closed and I, along with several colleagues, will be heading in very soon to see if we can get into work and start the massive clean-up.
Please keep checking the site for the update and if you are able to donate money, please check out this page for a list of charities that are accepting donations. Also, the New Zealand Red Cross is accepting donations.
Edited: In saying this, the British and Australian Red Cross organisations are accepting donations on behalf of the New Zealand Red Cross. If you’re in the UK and wish to donate, you can do so through this page. If you’re in Australia and wish to donate, you can do so through this page.
Believe me, every dollar/pound/whatever your local currency is that is donated is and will be definitely needed. I donated AUD$10 to the Queensland flood fund last month so the least some people can do is pass on the favour!
